Founded in 1953, McCauley (formerly Sam McCauley Chemists) is the third largest retail pharmacy group in Ireland, with approximately 650 staff across 35 stores.
In 2017, CCI acquired McCauley in partnership with the founder, Sam McCauley, and the buy-in CEO and have grown the business since then through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
In September 2022, Melior agreed the sale of McCauley to Uniphar plc. The transaction completed in January 2023 following Competition and Consumer Protection Commission approval.
